More than 50 thousand Russian citizens have visited Vietnam for the first seven months of 2011, said the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Russian Federation, Pham Xuan Sean, on Friday.
“In 2010, more than five million tourists have visited Vietnam, including tens of thousands from Russia.
This year, for only seven months, more than fifty thousand tourists (from Russia) came to Vietnam”, – he said at a Press Conference at RIA Novosti.
According to him, the Vietnamese Government is continually investing heavily in tourism development.
“Due to great efforts of our government in the development of tourism infrastructure, simplification of visa regime for foreigners, improvement of transport system and particularly the preservation of political stability and security guarantees for the people, Vietnam is becoming more and more attractive and interesting destination for foreign tourists”, – he added.
