In Vietnam, foreign tourists will get back VAT on purchases.
It will be possible to get back 10% of purchases from April 2012.
In 2012, VAT on purchases will be repaid to foreign tourists in Vietnam.
Travelers will be able to get a refund only making purchases at certain stores spending at least two million Vietnamese dongs.
According to the tax department of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam, this innovation will promote tourism and currency influx, as well as growth in exports of locally produced goods.
VAT refund scheme will operate at the international airports Noi Bai in Hanoi and Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh, from next April to June 2016, according Travel.ru.
In 2011, Vietnam expects 5.5 million foreign tourists. By August this year, the country has already been visited by four million travelers.
